Do This, Not That: Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day will be here before you know it. We know, DON’T PANIC.

We’re talking the do’s and don’ts of Valentine’s Day to make sure this one is your most successful yet!

Let's jump right into it...

DON'T: Buy from an order gatherer

DO: Shop with a local florist

What is an order gatherer?

In the floral industry, an order gatherer is generally defined as any company that pretends to be a local florist.

Essentially, it’s a “service” that exists to gather orders, pass them along to an actual florist, and take a sharp cut in commissions and service fees.

With the advent of the internet, finding a local florist and placing an order became simpler than it’s ever been. Unfortunately, the order gatherers quickly placed themselves in between the gifter and the local florist.

How is Lovingly any different?

Lovingly partners with local florists to beat order gatherers and help them actually grow their online business.

Our goal is to see local florists thrive and gifters like you receive the best possible product.

DON’T: Skip out on Valentine’s Day just because you’re single

DO: Celebrate with your best pals or on your own

Galtine’s Day is soo a thing! Embrace it and meet up for dinner and drinks with some friends—send your BFF a quirky flower arrangement to her workplace as a nice surprise that she’ll never see coming.

Or wine and dine yourself with a well-deserved self-care night. We’re talking booze, bath salts, candles, and your favorite film.

DON’T: Wait until the last minute (We know it’s tempting.)

DO: Plan ahead & order early

There’s nothing more stressful than realizing you’ve dropped the ball and it’s too late to make the big day special.

Don’t let that happen!

It’s never too early to plan ahead and order your gifts early.

In fact, if you plan on ordering flowers—the earlier the better.

Placing your V-Day flower order early will ensure you get the flowers you want (or any flowers at all) AND that you’ll get them on time.

DON’T: Skip out on the chocolates

DO: Gorge yourself in your favorites

Whether you’re single or all coupled up, V-Day is not the day to be super health conscientious.

Chocolates, candies, ice cream, you name it—besides, calories don’t count on Valentine’s Day…it’s a known fact

DON’T: Dread the holiday.

DO: Be creative!

Even if it’s not your favorite holiday of the year, find a way to make it fun and make it your own.

Get personal! Consider doing out-of-the-box activities like a bonfire (weather permitting), a paint and sip class, wine or beer tasting, a bar crawl—the sky’s the limit!

If you’re sending Valentine’s Day flowers to your honey, find out the meaning of a few specific flowers that convey just how much they mean to you and include them in the arrangement!
