Give them a calendar that has dates already scheduled on it.

Whether it’s a month long or year long calendar, having dates scheduled not only shows your partner that they matter to to you, but that time with them is worth being planned out.

2. Switch It Up

Is one of you better at cooking than the other? Does one of you usually do the laundry and the other washes the car?

Switch it up!

Be each other for a day (or a week).

Everything your partner typically does, you will now do and vice versa. This can become pretty entertaining—especially if you’re not very good at what they do.

By mixing up your roles, you form a deeper appreciation for each other and you’ll get a good laugh!

Learn how to cook or make something, and the best part is you don’t have to be nervous to try something new—your best friend is right there with you!

4. A 'Thank You' Goes a Long Way​

Sometimes we forget to say,“Thank you.” It happens to the best of us.

We think it in our head, but it never makes it out of our mouth. Oopsie!

Use this Valentine’s Day to stop and recognize all the qualities of your partner that you’re thankful for.

Write a bunch of thank you notes for them and leave them throughout the house, in places they would stumble upon them while going about their day-to-day.

Sometimes the simplest things can really make the biggest difference.

5. Oldies but Goodies

Assuming you’re like the majority of us, there’s a good chance you and your partner haven’t see each other’s childhood photo albums, or yearbooks.

Even if it requires some planning to get ahold of these gems, they’re probably worth the effort!

Sitting together and looking back on life before each other can be fun and includes them in a part of your life they didn’t know before.

Plus, you can laugh together at the hairstyles and clothing fads that you both wish had never happened.

6. Check In and Check Out

So Valentine’s day is a work night this year… No problem!

You can still have a romantic getaway even if you don’t leave your own town.

Booking a hotel in the town where you live can be fun!

You get to experience your hometown as if you were a visiting tourist, and the best part is you don’t have to make the bed or do the laundry!

A one-night getaway can transport you both to another place, even though you never left your usual location.

7. Cuddle Time

Believe it or not, one of the best things you can do is a simple as cuddling!

Yup, that’s it, and science agrees!

It’s not only good for you as a couple, it’s also good for you as an individual.

Cuddling releases a “feel-good” hormone called Oxytocin as well as increasing your serotonin.

Both are vital for feeling happy, healthy, and balanced. Cuddling can also: lower inflammation, strengthen immunity, reduce anxiety, ease chronic pain, and improve sleep.
